Giles Daoust is an award-winning filmmaker based in Brussels and Los Angeles.

Born in 1979 in Brussels, he graduated in 2003 from Solvay Business School. He also studied at City University Business School and attended Robert McKee’s Story screenwriting seminar.

In 2003, Giles Daoust founded the film production company Title Films (now Title Media) with Golden Globe Winner Alain Berliner (director of My Life in Pink) and financier Serge Peffer. Title Films has been a subsidiary of SRIB/GIMB Group (one of Brussels’ leading investment companies) from 2005 to 2008, and has used the Belgian Tax Shelter for most of its productions.

As a writer, director and producer, Giles Daoust has worked with several prominent filmmakers and companies, including Lionsgate (Saw, Mad Men, Kickass), Gavin Polone (producer of Panic Room, Zombieland), Pierre David (producer of Videodrome, Scanners), Pascal Duquenne (Cannes Best Actor Winner for The Eight Day) and Cinemavault Releasing.

Giles has written and directed 3 feature films: Last Night on Earth (2004), The Room (2006) and Artefacts (2008), which have been released in over 40 countries, and garnered over 20 film festival selections (including Hollywood Film Festival and Brussels Intl. Fantastic Film Festival).

Last Night on Earth later generated a US remake, A Broken Life (2008), starring Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Heat), Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible, Pulp Fiction) and Saul Rubinek (True Romance, Nixon).

Giles has been writing screenplays and novels since age 16, and also works as a writer for hire. He has won several awards for his screenplays.

As a live show producer and director, Giles is best known since 2006 as the director of the Ommegang, Brussels’ landmark historical show, presented yearly on Brussels Grand Place, featuring 1,500 actors and extras in traditional costumes.

As a commercial films producer, Giles has worked for clients including Ogilvy, Screenvision and BMW.

In 2003, Giles created and produced the Belgian film competition Ciné Quest - Concours Cinéma Belge in partnership with leading Belgian media companies, including UGC, Kinepolis, BeTV (Canal + Belgium), RTBF and AB3.

Giles also works as a music producer for films and live shows, with acclaimed Belgian composer Ernst W. Meinrath (CSI: Miami, Parabellum). Clients include After Dark Films and Cutting Edge / Air Edel. With a library of over 100.000 tracks, Giles also offers music supervision and music consulting services.

Giles is a also a photographer and painter, with several exhibitions to his credit.
